Account Deletion Request
We're sorry to see you go! If you no longer wish to use FocusPlate, you can securely delete your account and all associated data.
How to delete your account in the app (Recommended)
The fastest and most secure way to delete your account is directly inside the FocusPlate app. Doing so instantly removes your profile and all data.
App Deletion Steps
- Open the FocusPlate app on your device.
- Log in to the account you wish to delete.
- Tap on the Settings icon (the gear in the navigation bar).
- Scroll to the very bottom of the Settings page.
- Tap on Delete Account.
- Confirm your choice in the pop-up dialogue.
How to request account deletion via email
If you no longer have access to the app or prefer that we handle the deletion manually, you can submit an account deletion request via email.
Email Request Steps
- Send an email to privacy@focusplate.online with the subject line "Account Deletion Request".
- Ensure you send the email from the same email address associated with your FocusPlate account so we can verify your identity.
- State clearly that you want your account and all data deleted.
Please note that manual deletion requests may take up to 7 business days to process.
What data gets deleted?
When your account is deleted, the following information is permanently wiped from our databases and cannot be recovered:
- Your FocusPlate profile (Name, email address, dietary restrictions, goals, budget, cooking skills).
- All of your generated meal plans and meal history.
- All of your active grocery lists.
Note on Subscriptions: Deleting your FocusPlate account does not automatically cancel any active subscriptions made through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. You must manually cancel your subscription in your device's subscription settings to prevent future billing.
